The Green Building Model™ provides three independent generating plants. The basic needs without external infrastructure and connections. We use solar panels for generating electricity, a water storage and filtering system to make drinking and flushing water and a mini biogas plant producing gas that can be used for cooking.
The electricity is used for lighting and it feeds a variety of devices, including a pump, TV, kitchen equipment, etc. The excess electricity is stored in batteries and can likewise be sold and contribute to build an exchange network within the surroundings. The water collected on the roof during the rainy season is stored in an underground tank. For rocky areas there is an above ground version. The water filtration system is suitable for drinking water. A solar collector provides hot water. It is also possible to generate water from the air, which reduces the dependence of the rain water supply.
By connecting the water and sewer to a mini biogas plant gas will be produced, which can be used for cooking. The residue is compost. This can be used in the garden to improve the soil. In case no gas in produced, the mini biogas plant will be supplied with organic waste. This increases gas production, and can also be custom made.
The main structure of the unit is based on a steel skeleton, whose dimensions match charting sizes. On the corners of the containers nodes built, these are solutions used to link and transport the unit.
We have designed an organization of units for various functions, allowing rapid and effective solutions that can provide housing, retail, offices, agricultural, educational and medical care.
For each function there are specific solutions designed.
Within each function there is a simple way to gradually expand the Green Building Model™ . It is possible to extend the size of the unit without much effort. This can happen in five directions and depending on the chosen type of building, the model can have up to 6 layers of new space. Because all parts are interchangeable this creates new and different facades in a really short period of time. All existing doors and windows are positioned at a location that allows generating new space, making necessary amendments limited to a minimum.
We tried to lower the costs in all aspects, while maintaining the highest quality possible. To fulfill the price/quality plan we allowed the possibility to expand with different options such as equipment, openings, installation parts etc.. This way different clients define their own reduction levels.
Additionally, the future users manage their own affairs in a variety of tasks such as producing underground tanks (for water storage or mini biogas plant), foundations and terraces. Assembly and maintenance from local parties also play an important role. Through local participation, involvement and responsibility increase and costs reduce.
By letting go of the compact building design and the series production of the unit, it allows future users to choose what goes in their unit and they control the costs.
Local in Africa: Technical building preparation is done before installing the unit by local labour.
International: High standard quality Unit and integrated technique is produced with all necessary equipment to immediately live in. In the future parts of the unit can be produced and or assembled locally.
