Natural water purification
A Helofytenfilter system pumps water onto a reed bed, then through several layers of sand (the filter substrate) as it drops down along the reed roots. These sand layers and the reed roots contain various biological, physical and chemical processes, through which the waste water is treated. The purified water is suitable for so-called household water uses.
Helofytenfilter is currently the waste water treatment system with the highest returns. It is a natural biological treatment system, it is robust and not sensitive to failure. A patch of reeds 16 m2 can deal with the sewage discharge of a household of about 5 people, and caused no smell because the water sinks directly into the filter. A Helofytenfilter has longevity and is perfect fitting for gardens and landscapes.
